First Date Don't's That Naija Girls Do

1. Not showing up

After agreeing to go on a date with a guy, they keep the guy waiting and eventually fail to show up. All effort to reach them on phone prove abortive as they switch it off. When you finally get to reach them after that incidence, they give you flimsy excuses for not showing up. It's not as if the guy invited you for slaughter. I see no reason why you shouldn't show up cos he actually invited you to a nice and safe place.

2. Showing up late

Well, it's normal to show up late just to test the dude's patience and boost your importance, but showing up later than normal is what's wrong. Respect is reciprocal, so you have to respect the fact that he honoured you by inviting you to a nice and cozy place for a talk instead of doing it by the road side.

3. Showing up with a friend or two

This gets a lot of naija guys upset and tends to make them lose respect for the girl. Coming with a friend is still understandable because of security even though it's not a graveyard he invited you to, but coming with two or more is what pisses guys off. Such girls usually go with the mindset of chopping his money. How much can you chop that will make you an inch taller or fatten your bank account? If you must go with a friend, make sure it's not more than one and make sure she gets a separate table just so you and your date can have a private converstion.

4. Ordering for more than they can contain

Just cos you aren't the one paying, you now decide to order for everything they have at the restaurant. That is not right as it portrays you as an hungry fellow. When giving the menu list, tick your choice and make sure you don't tick the over expensive dishes cos you do not know the pocket rate of your date who's going to foot the bill, except you want to end up washing dishes cos a bad dude will bail out on you...lol


5. Being rude

Even if you know you can't date such a guy but still decided to honour the date, finish the honour by politely telling him it can't work. Do it in such a way that you'll still remain friends after. Some girls feel shattering a guy's ego actually gets them respect- a respect that doesn't pay bills. If you act rude, chances are that you may never like the guy cos you've made everything difficult for him by being difficult. The guy might even be the kind of man you've been waiting for, but cos you allowed too much shakara to get into your head, you got blinded from seeing such. Being polite can actually make him stick around as friends even after you turned down his request. This can eventually make you see some qualities in him that will make you like him enough to go on a second date with him.
