Bad Things Likely To Start Happening To Nigerian Entertainers

I know you are getting bugged by the recent trend of naija celebs flaunting their wealth on social media. Nowadays, they flaunt their properties more than they flaunt their talents. This act is certain to lead to a series of happenings that will torment the naija entertainment scene thesame way it does to its American counterpart which inspires it. Below are a few of the happenings I predict. Though you might think my predictions are too harsh, we can only caution these celebs from further doing that which might lead them into ending up in one of the below situations.

1. Gunshot killings

When you see an artiste putting on gold chains worth more than what you can ever earn in 10yrs time, the feeling you get can only be controlled if you are a person with good self-control. Putting these things on in music videos is pretty understandable, but showing them on twitter or instagram as well is part of the reason why every naija youth wants to be a musician or an entertainer. Many make it into the game but most don't actually make the kind of money that lured them into it. Such get intimidated when a rich and famous young artiste walks into the backstage room looking all blingy with all the groupies lusting after him alone. That is just how hiphop beefs start. Next thing you hear are diss songs flying everywhere. They might seem like a sales strategy till a few shots are fired and somebody is pronounced dead. If such acts don't have access to guns which aren't really an african thing, the use of black magic otherwise called juju can be applied to douse the star of their rival. Most of today's acts have the ability to settle their beefs before they escalate into hiring assassins. But how about the ruthless armed robber lurking in the dark with a gun to rob these expensive looking celebs? What if he uses the gun? The case of celebs getting killed by gunshots like it happened to tupac, biggie, proof etc might start to occur in naija if care is not taken.

2. Jail

Not every entertainer in the entertainment industry is talented enough to be in the industry. Some got attracted by the flamboyant and glamourous lifestyle of celebrities. When a fellow colleague of theirs shows off his newly acquired bentley or house on social media, they feel intimidated. Such can decide to meet up by doing something illegal like internet scams popularly called yahoo-yahoo, pushing hard drugs, homosexual prostitution etc. When the long arm of the law reaches them, they end up getting jailed. The worse part is that this is not America where an akon or a tupac can come out of jail and still blow up. Even akon testified in some of his songs that life in America is difficult for an ex-convict, how much more in Nigeria where the whole family of such a person is tagged a family of prisoners.

3. Plastic surgery

Don't you just love it when you see nikki minaj or kim kardashian flaunt their body assets? Their backside, boobs, face and lovely skin gives them so much attention that TV stations are willing to do shows about them. It takes a lot of sacrifice to maintain a diva status. Most of the american female celebs do all sorts of surgeries just to keep that youthful look in order just to keep gracing the covers of magazines. Very soon, our female singers will also want that diva status. That's when we'll start hearing incidence of butt implant gone wrong, boobs silicon burst and face looking horrible from surgery.

4. Baby mama

This situation is already getting a solid footing in our entertainment scene. Every young girl wants to be associated with a star irrespective of the cost. They believe their child will have a secured future if he bears the name of a celeb. These girls do not think of the unhappy life a star lives, they are just moved by the fame and money he has. Most of them go with the hope of him getting married to them later till they realise he's getting another baby mama somewhere else. These celebs delay marriage just to enjoy a promiscous lifestyle. When such die, they leave their family in conflict due to their children from different mothers fighting for the wealth he left behind.

5. Divorce increase

Done with his baby mamas, a celeb can decide to marry a very beautiful girl for show-off. This lady automatically becomes a celeb for marrying one. There's hardly any genuine love between both of them, just one lusting after beauty and the other after money and fame. Fews years down the lane, they get divorced which creates a huge buzz in gossip blogs, getting their followers influenced. The female ones get carried away by their careers that they find it difficult sustaining their marriage, eventually they get divorced.

6. Substance abuse

We all know how well entertainers perform under the influence of one drug or the other. In naija right now, the situation is at a low cos we haven't had any case of overdose. But in the nearest future, such will be a norm going by the rate at which high level performance is required of them. Right now, we are dealing with the case of drug trafficking to foreign countries from Nigeria; very soon, the drugs trafficked will remain in the country due to high demand not only from the normal drug users and entertainers, but also the ordinary boy on the street who got influenced by the lyrics/acts of his favorite stars.

7. Going broke

A range rover 2015 cost a lot, but these guys flaunt it like it's nothing. The new show-off involves posting pictures of their garage on social media. Some garages contain cars like bentley, porsche, aston martin and ferrari all in a multi-million naira crib located in an expensive neighbourhood. We hardly hear of their investments, that's if such exists. There are tonnes of American celebs who have gone really broke due to the excessive show of wealth. Today, their houses and properties are up for sale. The worse part is that their careers are in the dump. They got carried away by fame and glamour. The naija artiste today prefers to buy a very expensive house in the US where he only spend days while most of his time is spent in Nigeria cos that's where he makes his money. The tax and bills paid on the US house is enough to set up something meaningful in naija.

A word is enough for the wise.
